Bad textbook, contradicts itself multiple times, see other reviews for examples. Super redundant, I wouldn't buy/rent it!

School text needed for school. Came promptly for start of class. Came as described.

Love this book in the kindle addition. You can search key words. You also have less bulk laying around the house. It is a well written book that covers the normal changes in aging. You can use it on your kindle app on which ever tablet you use.

This is exactly what I needed for my geriatric medsurg course. It's great to rent books.

I agree with the other 1-star ratings. Pick a different book. Contradictions everywhere. This book contradicts many nursing fundamental principles. The publisher exam questions the instructor used where based on minor detail recall. Lots of information, lot of tables and charts, lot of contradictions. Rationales completely contradict them selves from the 2nd edition chapter review questions for online resources on basic fundamental teachings. Very disappointed in the textbook.

I'm preparing for the NHA exams - this book was recommend to me by the DON at JHC. This will be a keeper in my personal / professional library.

Baranek retired from the Navy in 1999 and now works as a defense contractor in the Washington, DC area. He lives in Burke, Virginia.

I admit I’m a bibliophile as well as an Aviation Geek. Also I am a Combat Vet who owes his life to Naval Aviators....twice. My favorite genre is a young man joining the Navy / Marine Corps and learning of their early indoctrination into commissioning and finally the nitty gritty of their flight training. The creme’ de la creme is when they become Fleet Aviators and go to War putting warheads on for heads.When I first viewed Top Gun ( first of dozens ) I was finishing up my mandated one year in a Naval Hospital, training up for the fleet. I already had orders for a Man of War and felt 12 feet tall after watching the movie.Yet in all of the books I never read squat about NFO’s nor the Enlisted ASW guys in fixed or rotary wing. I knew these men were good but never read about them do to the dearth of writing.I admit to skepticism reading this....Air Force jocks call the Weapons Guy in back as the GIB. Guy in Back. We all know the huge ego’s of Naval Fighter and Attack Pilots. Now I understand that truly , the A6’s , F4’s , F14’s had a definite advantage to having another Warrior Brain to utilize the computers , radar etc to effectively splash or pink mist the enemy.The author takes you on the highs and lows of initial training. How down chits truly SUCK. I had no idea the reams of info a RIO had to memorize and with proper CRM both Aviators made their respective weapon system far more lethal. I can’t imagine pulling six g’s, maintaining SA and doing mental trigonometry and algebra.The only reason I did not rate five star is I wanted more. But I’m lucky , I get to read his next book. SFMF

If you like books about military aviation, you should enjoy this one. The author, Dave "Bio" Baranek, tells about going through Naval flight training in the 1979-1980 timeframe and earning the gold wings of a Naval Flight Officer. He details the subsequent training which qualified him as a Radar Intercept Officer (RIO) flying in the back seat of the supersonic F-14 Tomcat. He then shares some of his experiences as a member of an operational F-14 squadron, flying in the Tomcat from an aircraft carrier at sea.Baranek later became an Instructor at the Navy's Topgun fighter weapons school. His tour of duty at Topgun is detailed in Baranek's first book, "Topgun Days". This book, "Before Topgun Days", is thus the prequel to his first book. Both of Baranek's books provide interesting reading and include a section with color photographs.

This is Bio's second book and I truly feel like I know him. As a fellow Naval Officer and aviator, I wish I would have know him back in the day.Fair winds and following seas! I'm looking forward to your next book!Mike FerraraLT USNR

Great book--strongly recommended for sociologists studying work or medicine. I was impressed not just by the empirical analysis, but by the author's ability to dig a little deeper into debates around, say, emotional labor. The main question in the book is how different for-profit and non-profit nursing homes are (spoiler: not so different). But Rodriquez also shows that the efforts of the for-profit home to take in higher-paying medicare patients does lead the two homes on different trajectories.Also recommended for medical professionals or even those curious about the industry. But beware that it is a book written for sociologists, so there will be some discussions that may be boring if you're not in the field. However, aside from those moments it is a very interesting read.

This book gives an overview of the history of dance. I bought it for a class I was taking. It goes in to detail about some things but not a lot. The author uses some strange wording and is obviously biased at times instead of presenting an unbiased scholarly brief overview of the history. The book is not the easiest read since I found it rather boring. My teacher has been using this book for years but doesn't like it. She has finally decided to switch books, unfortunately too late for me. If you just want a brief overview of dance history, especially if you know nothing about it and/or are not even a dancer, it's fine. If you are looking for a whole history with details, look somewhere else.

Honestly, I'm not sure why there isn't a newer version. Our History of Dance teacher asked us to get this book and while it does a good job of describing some things, it doesn't have anything in it from the past 11 years. I complain about there being new versions of textbooks every 2 years with only a sentence or two changed, but 11 is a bit much. The author also seems to go off on tangents about specific things that she likes about a specific topic, which often gets away from the point of the information, making it harder to find what's important. It's full of information, but finding the important stuff can be a task.

I rented this book for my wife for her Humanities class and when she opened the package it was like this. The cover clearly not attached, the side of the book is missing pieces of the cover, highlighting in he book also. It will serve the purpose for her class. She said she would rent again for the price verses buying this book!

I read this book but don't think I ordered it from Amazon. I love the reading material.

The first two chapters were missing and a lot of the pages were falling out.

It was an okay book with lots of typos and opinionated comments. I didn't think it was well organized nor well written and there were also a few inaccurate informations regarding who was the creator of what. And it is expensive! Overall an okay reference to give you a general idea of things.

This book is incredible and has very valuable information. This book is recommended for anyone trying to learn the history of modern dance.

This is the book I need for one of my classes this semester. Even though the book was used it was still in GREAT condition. Thank you for great service!

I use this book regularly for creating the story times I do for my local library. It has some nice songs in it: topically very appropriate for what you would need but also what you want for the preschool age group: short, simple, catchy tunes and nice illustrations for creating felt fingerplays.The book seems expensive for a paperback but it is a thick book with a lot of fingerplays in it.In short, I would highly recommend this book for using to create story times.

I love this book! Have used it for 12 years now! My previous one got water damage so I needed a new one!

great stories for preschoolers and toddlers if you want to make cut outs and laminate them for felt board pieces.

I love how this book gives a fingerplay for the most common themes used in preschool. I like the easy to follow fingerplays and I use one of them nearly everyday in my classroom.

Loved the ideas and stories/activities great asset for a beginner librarian.

I purchased this book and could not believe how many great ideas there are in the book. I loved that it was divided into seasons which made it easy to find exactly what you wanted. This book is highly reccommended for anyone wanting feltboard stories. The pictures are great and the children are thrilled to see me pull them out! Well worth it!

A very valuable book for collectors who want to know whether they are collecting the original record, or are collecting non-original pressings made by some other record company to look like the original--called repros. It's OK to want a $300. mint original record if that's what you want. Unfortunately, some collectors think they own that $300. record when they don't. The record seller could be a crook out to make a buck, or he could be ignorant and really think he has an original. This book solves the confusion. Now collectors can verify that their collections are originals and are worth what they claim. So far this is the only book that can assist the record buyer in purchasing what he wants--Original or repro. It also gives the seller a tool in which his inventory of records will be labeled and priced accurately. Before Dead Wax collectors did not know what to look for to determine if a record was original or not. A must for all record collectors and record sellers!!

Good intentions, but mediocre delivery. Needed more editing. Many records listed with no information. Much obvious information regarding labels we all know have numbers stamped in. Approach to list specific records not as helpful as it could be. More helpful to discuss a label generally ,such as RCA you can expect stamped numbers with some exceptions for DJ records etc. Maybe second edition if there is one will take a more useful approach. Information that any serious collector needs, but must improve on approach, do more research and provide better documentation.

A worthwhile book as far it goes. I was able to find several of my very valuable records in the book. However, many valuable records were not included. I hope the author writes a 2nd edition and includes many more valuable records.The service provided by this book in very much needed. Too many record sellers today are selling "bootleg" records on e-bay and passing them off as original pressings. This book would make it much more difficult for them to get away with this unethical practice. Also, because of the information provided in this book ethical sellers will be able to authenticate their valuable records prior to selling them.

Great guide. If you got a Kendel just download the free version (if you have Prime).Not much there but it is a fair guide. It is really over simple but effective for research.

For the price I found this book to be so so and not very informative, considering the number of records out there that may be counterfeit. The explanation on the different variations were cloudy and also I could not find the email (told to email for changes) in the book. Totally not very happy with the entire book. It seems to have had more advertisement than information.

Love it. Keep expanding it.
