And a postive to anyone you know dealing with c f . You will learn how not to let this disease Define you. I will finish up by saying thank you Tim for writing this book. I hope anyone that reads shares their experience in reading this. I promise will put down with a new fire in living life to the fullest.

As the mother of a CF child who almost made it to her ninth birthday, Tim’s story was overwhelming and emotional. On one hand, I had to read his story in stages because my throat was too clogged to think and my eyes too blurry. On the other hand, I almost felt guilty as I thought about all the angst, pain, suffering and mental struggles that my Chrissy did not have to live through like the sad times in between the pages of Tim’s life. I am thrilled with the idea that God has pushed Tim further along in his blessed life with Katie and little Felix. The struggle is real and Tim’s strong character is fabulous. I am so glad that Julie on We Love Memoirs suggested that I read this book. It was educational and illuminating and I applaud Tim’s courage and candor.

This book is a very insightful and honest introspective account of Tim's life as a cystic fibrosis (CF) patient. It start from his youth and then focuses quite a lot on his daily events as he nears his tremendous milestone of turning 40 years old. Tim does not hold back in his challenges and descriptions of his mechanisms of coping with CF. From the rigorous medical treatments, dealing with relationships, coping with a full-time job, his dedication to physical activity, and to dealing with the challenges of his CF comrades are some of the topics covered. If you don't know much about CF, it will enlighten you of the challenges faced by CF patients, even though they often appear fine on the outside. If you are aware of CF, this will give you hope and courage to keep pushing forward daily, and to have the appreciation of the subtle beauties in life that are often overlooked by most us. This is a terrific account and pushes the awareness of CF to another level. It should also give others that have CF in their lives at some level the hope to keep fighting on.

Tim Wotton grips you into a delightfully raw, unscripted look into his life with Cystic Fibrosis. He articulates the thoughts of every CF adult regarding healthy people and their nonsensical complaints about life. I really enjoyed this book on Kindle. Tim Wotton writes with wit and intelligence and provides an insight into CF which I'd previously known little about. Despite living with this terrible disease his entire life Tim proves that no matter how awful things may seem it's possible to live the most productive and fulfilling of lives. Life is what we make it and Tim has certainly made it. Tim was told he would not make it to his seventeenth birthday, so with his fortieth birthday in sight he decides to write down his thoughts and the book takes us in diary form through his thirty-ninth year, through to the milestone birthday.I learnt so much from this book, not only about Cystic Fibrosis, but about courage and determination and that a positive outlook to life can make a huge difference. The book is great for raising Cystic Fibrosis awareness. All who have or know someone with the condition will get some helpful insights and useful information from reading this book. The book will also be helpful to anyone facing challenges in their own life. It is always much easier I find to talk and learn from people who are going through the experience than get bogged down by all the medical jargon. I thank Tim Wotton for opening my eyes and making me more aware to a medical condition, I knew very little about.

THere is not much to review, this book was an assigned reading in one of my classes. Its a bit expensive but its also a long reading so I guess the latter justifies the former. I haven't yet used all the features of the book such as attached CD/DVD. Although I hope this comprehensive reading on fundraising will establish the base knowledge for the future.

Bought this book new after reading reviews. It seems like it’s a textbook that will also be useful in the future.

Required reading for a certificate program I enrolled in - glad they made me get it! Sometimes we need a little prod to do what we need to do.

One of the things I like most about this book is that it isn't just for practicing magicians who entertain audiences but can also be read as a philosophical book on common techniques largely used in our world whether it be in media, politics, cultural programming etc.

good book , good information

I can start by summarizing the entire book in just a few words, " You must trick your audience to be a magician". This book was little more than the author patting himself on the back for previous works. Without saying it right out he tries to make the reader feel like they will be too stupid to read this book unless they have read his other works with quotes like " Unless you read MIND TRICK you might not fully understand ". The first 14 chapters are ALMOST nothing but the author telling you how great his previous two books are and how much you should read them with very little content on magic. It isn't until you get somewhere past chapter 14 that you get into the heart of what the entire book should have been about.I am a magician looking to expand my knowledge base for my routine. I was hoping this book would help me understand my own misdirection ability. It did not. The only thing that I took away from this book was watch where your eyes look because that is were the audience will direct their attention. The only other saving grace of this book was when it talked about repetition and different ways to lull the audience's attention away from what you are doing. I feel very cheated to have bought this book and spent the few hours it took to read just to come away with such little information. I do not recommend this book for magicians of any age.

They can be completed by Maskelyne and David Devant's "Our Magic" and by Henning Nehlms book on showmanship.Anybody seriously interested in magic or deception (politics, military and business strategies) should know this unknown book.

Originally, I assumed Reframe Your Viewpoints was going to be another of those self-help books that you speed read, feel inspired for a few days, and never open again. Boy, was I mistaken! Turns out it's a well written, scholarly book with meaty exercises and lots of examples to add interest and clarity. This one is going to stay downloaded on my Kindle so I can refer to it often and apply the very useful reframing techniques.My favorites were "Chapter 9: Reframing—How Do You Get Some?" and "Chapter 10: The Nitty-Gritty of Reframing Techniques." Chapter 9 features an account of the author's cancer diagnosis and treatment with examples of how she applied her favorite variation of reframing (and mine)—The Back-Door Approach. The Spa Reframing Technique was the highlight of Chapter 10 for me. Simple and effective, and there are many more.Every chapter contains valuable information, AND the reader receives free extras (an SPA reframing template and exercises included in the Supplemental Information and Workbook Packet). I highly recommend this book!

My type A overachieving self has been struggling with anxiety and stress for a while. This book gave me so many aha moments as to why that is and gave very specific tools to understand what was causing the anxiety and what to do. I've already started using some of these with great results! Still have a ways to go, but this book opened my eyes to a better life.
