I've been to Mexico City five or six times (I'm here right now actually.) It's a great city. Right up there with London and New York in terms of size, scale and things to do.The challenge is it's a big place with lots and lots of moving parts. When you're in Mexico City you're DEFINITELY not in Kansas any more.You need a guide and you need a guide who keeps things simple and covers ALL the essentials. This book does the trick. I learned a few important things and I wish I'd had before. There are lots of guides to Mexico City and make of them are excellent, but this one will help you break the ice fast and get into the mix.My personal tip if you have limited time: Get to know the Centro Historico and make time for the Anthropology Museum. Also, Mexico City is 7,000 feet up. Give yourself time to adjust. If you're coming from sea level, it's probably not a good idea to run around like crazy the first day or two. Give your body time to adapt and drink a lot more water than you're used to doing.

This is not a polished, big publisher guide, but like having a conversation with a neighbor who has been to Mexico City, and loves it. Very helpful
I basically followed the recommended route in this book while traveling in Mexico City. It's really great itinerary because it not only include historical sites, museums, but also folklore events, which is a good way to understand Mexican culture as a whole. If you are traveling alone or with small group, I'd recommend you to skip Xochimilco and spend more time in museum of anthropology- there is so much to see that it's not possible to finish in 2 and half hours if you like couture and history. Beside minor adjustments, this is a very useful travel guide.
Found this very useful for a little off the beaten tourist track information. It was great for street restaurants and area advice. Loved the day by day walking routes - which we didn't follow exactly but allowed us to pick and choose easily.
He is a common dSense guy telling you what to do in the city. Makes it easy to plan our family trip.
Could be better suited to Kindle format. Would be much better if you could click on an index to go back to a particular item of interest if you are not following the daily ritual specifically. The general information is excellent as far as highlighting the major points of interest.
Looks like a good brief guide, but we're dissappointed that the Google Map links do not work on my maps app on both my Moto X Android phone and Kindle Fire 7 tablet. They do work on the Kindle reading app for Windows. If the author or editor has a fix please let us know, and we'll upgrade this review because the content is fine, well presented and concise.Update: I've been working with the editors and they've been very helpful on the maps link problem. (The maps links do work on my PCs from the Kindle app.) I've found a workaround: open and add the maps to your Google Maps on the PC, then they will be available on all your devices.Also they offer a bonus title from their guides if you post a review.
