This was a major disappointment. The fact that photos are included in the book doesn't make it a great example of photography as art. Now I know what Sasha Grey's initial claim to fame is. I wasn't expecting more spread shots or anything trying to outdo or mimic Madonna's Sex book. I expected more of what the cover hints at. Avant garde, even with effects portaying Grey's physical beauty in a creative way. What did I get? Candid shots, selfies, and not much else. There's some pages with vague poetry/prose and autobiography but it's like the photos. There's no there, there.
The book's title is a bit misleading. There's a lot of candid photos in there, but no sex. Most aren't even (non-sexual) nudes, and the photographic quality rarely rises above "snapshot".That being said, the book offers a candid and unfiltered look at an interesting woman.
A lot of interesting pics in this book and a nice collector item but, the German translation from the original text is annoying.
I love this book. I paid $17 and change for it. Now I have seen prices up to $900.00. I think unless your wallet is well padded, its not worth that kind of money. If you are a Sasha Grey fanatic MAYBE. I do love this book. I love Sasha Grey and its sexy, beautiful, and sensual. I think most of the photos were probably taken by her husband, photographer, Ian P. Cinnamon who she does give some credit to. The impression is given that Sasha took many of the photos herself though. I bought a second copy just to put in my storm shelter because it helps ease my anxiety. So good book, and if you are a rich person, spend as much as it costs, but if you really can't afford it find a better price.

Under whelming style and content. Content consists of primarily random pictures of mediocre quality. I was disappointed. Waste of money.
N.E.U. Sex is an amazing book. The book is made well excellent paper and binding. Sasha Grey surpassed my expectations with this work. I was literally taken through my entire emotional spectrum as I turned through the pages. The photographs range from serious to funny all with a touch of beautiful sexyness. Sasha's insights and thoughts throughout the book are amazing and well thought out. Her decision to leave captions out truly enrich the readers experience as you are left to your own interpretations and imagination. I highly recommend this book to all and can't wait to hopefully see future works by Sasha Grey.
