I was upset to leave Sheila at the end of book one. She was only six... so I was excited to continue reading about her in The Tiger's Child. it was very real to life... but also satisfying to know the outcome.

When I first heard about TIGER'S CHILD, I knew that I had to read it to find out what had happened to Sheila. I was not disappointed. I found that Sheila had carried a great deal of anger around with her all these years toward Torey for "showing her the good life and then deserting her just like her mother had." This rather dumb-founded Torey, because she was just doing what all teachers do at the end of a school year--saying good-bye to her students and moving on. Torey had to work very hard in this book to build up a trust level again. Sheila was not going to make this easy. However, the ending was satisfying; and we are left knowing that Sheila will be all right. I don't know how Torey makes her writing such compelling reading. I could not put the book down--even when I needed to look at scenery on a vacation. I recommend this book to anyone who needs a heart-warming read.

Nothing could compare to One Child, but this gave me the closure I needed.

Love Torey Haydens books. I read this in one evening and I must say she is a saint with so much patience with the mentally challenged children.

My most favorite author in the entire world. Her book is captivating. I could not put it down until I had finished reading it. What an inspiration this woman is to me both in my personal life and in my professional life working with children. I highly highly recommend this book and ANY book written by Torey Hayden.

Unputdownable! I read it aloud to my father and we enjoyed it together. Great sequel to the author's book "One Child."

Would not have guessed this ending but happy Sheila has found her place in the world. Hopefully she finds a spouse who will show her what real love is about.

My 15-month-old daughter who is very active and is currently not into books *loved* this book. She squealed with delight every time she found Momo in the photographs. The photography itself is beautiful and aesthetically pleasing for both children and adults. If anyone knows of similar books, I'd buy them immediately!The first book started falling apart in the binding two days after completely normal use. The second one is in the same shape after three days. I really wish we could have this book but without such a huge fault in production.

This is a wonderful book! My 2yo finds the pictures exciting, and the hidden objects are also in a great combination of easy to find, and a little more challenging for a 2yo. There's something for little ones to get excited about on every page. Plus, what 2yo doesn't love looking for a cute dog! BUT, the book started falling apart after just 2 weeks of totally age appropriate, not horribly rough use. The binding isn't flexible enough as most board books are, and doesn't have enough give to open the book all the way, so just 10 or so times of opening the book all the way and 3 of the board pages just fell right out in a chunk. It's still a much beloved book in my house, so I did some repair work with clear packing tape, but that just shouldn't be necessary 2 weeks after first opening a new book.

The concept of the book is absolutely wonderful. My 15 month old daughter LOVES this book and we "read" it multiple times per day. It's a perfect first search and find book for toddlers. The problem is the book itself... This is our fourth copy, all of which either came with pages falling out or tore within 24 hours, despite gentle handling. Make sure you have a good supply of book repair tape.UPDATE: We've had this copy of the book for 48 hours and I've already had to repair three different pages. For a book made for the youngest audience, this one should have been much sturdier.

I love the content and execution of this book! Momo is adorable and the pictures are fun and engaging for a child. My daughter is a little over 1 and out of the blue started waving to Momo in the pictures and then pointing him out. Helps that we also have a border collie :DUnfortunately the construction of this book is really subpar. It has never been mistreated and normally we, the parents, are the ones handling the book. I applied fixes multiple times in the past few weeks for binding issues and then yesterday the first 4 boards of the book just stopped being bound to the back half of the book. The spine is still intact, but the interior pages are no longer connected. It will just get worse and will likely end up hand binding it which is kind of disappointing, but seems the only way to make it last.

This book is great!! My toddler loves it! (Especially because we too have a Border Collie.) The pictures are wonderful, and the right challenge for the target age group. I was glad to have a cardboard version of Momo's book :) We're fans!

My 1.5 year old LOVES this, and my three year old likes to find the additional items. There is also a bonus teddy bear to be found on every page (I think--haven't found him on a few pages yet...). I like the beauty of the photos--the photographer's sense of aesthetics is breathtaking in each picture. Would highly recommend for your own children or as a gift.

My 20 month old daughter LOVES this book! She loves dogs and our dog is black and white (Boston Terrier) so he looks similar to Momo. She cheerfully finds him and shouts "MOMO!" on every page. She's starting to get good at finding the other items on the page too. It's a great book for her age. She can find Momo and other things but she's still learning and it's challenging for her. We are very happy to add this to our book collection!

I bought this book to send to my 16-year old daughter while she was away at summer camp. It didn't matter that it is a children's book geared toward young toddlers and first time readers. It was MOMO!!! She was THRILLED to have it! Andrew Knapp - along with his border collie Momo - did an amazing job with their first children's book. It is fun and colorful and full of crisp, beautiful photos. Based on the same premise as his other (grown-up) photo books - Find Momo and Find Momo Coast to Coast - Knapp captures Momo hiding is silly places that will have children laughing with delight. You must get this book! Children will fall in love with Momo in this board book, and as they grow you can move on to Knapp & Momo's other wonderful books. The photography and their adventures will wow you!

I did every question in this book. I passed the NCLEX the first time with 89 questions. The Rationales are very descriptive and help you understand exactly what the question was asking. This is the only resource I used and the price is very reasonable compared to other options.

Great book, used it ALONE and passed nclex in one try, minimum questions and 30 minutes back in 2014. Bought this new edition for my sister to practice for her nursing classes.

I have been using this as well as other books and programs to prep for the NCLEX. While using this book on Kindle I have come across multiple rationals that either have typos or incorrect information when I check with other texts. Overall it seems to be a decent prep book, but the mistakes make me doubt the information provided.

Kids really enjoy the historical narrative, the photographs drawing them even further into the compelling accounts of lives lived long ago. So special !

Bring Warm Clothes : Letters and Photos from Minnesota's Past was written by a former columnist for the Minnesota Star and Tribune, Peg Meier. It is a great treat, both as a peek into the past and as a well "written" work of history. The author includes pictures, diary entries, newspaper articles, letters, and government documents to create her biography of the state.The book is heavily illustrated. Among the visual works are paintings of Minnesota from its exploration years, mostly by Seth Eastman and Karl Bodmer, which capture the rustic and wild character of a land yet untrammeled by the fences, industrial complexes and housing developments with which most of us are familiar. For those who like to see photographic reality, there are photos of Minnesota's early pre- and post-statehood years during the 19th Century and of the 20th Century up to World War II. The former include pictures of the Civil War in which the volunteers of the First Minnesota Regiment participated. In all some 25,000 men from the state fought in battles like Bull Run, Antietam, and Gettysburg, losing some 2,500 men, almost one out of every ten. Other photos show the old homes, city and town streets, early industry, sod homes, and family and other groups that bring to life a time past.Particularly enjoyable were the letters from the early settlement of Saint Paul and Minneapolis as presented in the merry correspondence of the Fuller family, and the witty press releases of Jane Grey Swisshelm in her paper the St Cloud Visiter, later the St. Cloud Democrat. The letters of Harriet Griswold reveal the fact that boom and bust economy is not new to our era, when her correspondence goes from exuberence and big plans in October of 1856 to bearly hanging on in September of 1858. The Civil War diaries of Sam Bloomer and Isaac Taylor and the World War I letters of Philip Longyear, an ambulance driver at the French front, bring those conflicts to a more vivid reality. The plight of the Native Americans and the fear and reactionism that the Indian Wars generated is also covered.The author has, wisely in my opinion, allowed the primary sources speak for themselves. She adds very little interpretive material of her own and then only to clarify where necessary or to provide follow up information.One of the principle points of note is the fact that most of these people had many of the same problems we have, and that they bring some of the same perspectives, same blind spots, and same sense of humor that we bring to our own daily lives. They lived one day at a time, facing an unknown future with the same uncertainty that we do. Some stories came out with a happy ending, some did not. It makes one wonder what some future writer of Minnesota history will say and think of our own times.

This captivating book will give you the flavor of how your immigrant ancestors fared in Minnesota. The wonderfully curated letters and photos really brought my genealogical research to life. I don't have many photos of my great and great great grandparents life on the iron range and around Duluth, but I feel like I could borrow some from this book. :)

This is a wonderful guide into Minnesota's past. Letters and articles accompany photos that bring you to places that you've been and acquaint you with it's character. Truly a terrific book for those that love the warmth and charm of the characters and life that make Minnesota home!
