This is a great travel guide, but I can't give it five stars just because it has very few pictures - just a couple in the front and a couple in the back. I don't need fancy pictures, but I'm usually very grateful even if there are some small black and white pics throughout the book just to give you an idea what you're looking at. Pics also help you to browse and get excited about a book before a trip.Despite that, this book is still one of the better ones available. It manages to have that smaller publisher feel, where you believe that you're reading someone's memoirs rather than a templated travel guide. The author states her experience at- or subjective impression of- a place sometimes - and although your experience may differ - mine has been dead on with hers most of the time. And the writing managed to get me pretty psyched up when I finally started reading it anyway (although I did wait until I got on the plane).I also appreciate that it has a lot of smaller, more oddball type sites listed, which is great for someone like me who wants to stay off the tourist trail and who also has a lot of time to kill - all the better if I have some archaeological site or hiking trail to find on my day off.There are some small maps of some sites included that are pretty decent, and there is a few pages of map in the back that is not perfectly accurate as to placement of sites, but gives you a pretty good idea of where everything is, and it's nice to have. It's definitely not suitable for driving, though....Speaking of which, there is no single romanisation method for Arabic, so when you can't match her terms up with something in your nav system or something you see another place, it's not her fault. This can still be tricky, so keep it in mind.I also like the size, weight, and hard cover.As is often the case, I'm definitely glad I gave this guide a chance over the mega-producers of guides out there. I'll be spending a lot more time in Jordan, and I'm in no rush to get another guide, even as a supplement.

I was a little nervous that the book would be too heavy to take with me since I travel very light, but even though it's hard cover, it was small and light. It had very detailed and helpful information, telling about all the things that seem minor but can have a big effect on how much you enjoy each day. I didn't actually use it very much for planning since I had a driver, but it was a lot of fun to read to learn about the places we were seeing.

This was a business trip to Jordan so much of my itinerary was already planned but I loved reading about Jordan before we departed. My first encounter with Footprint guides and I'll definitely seek them out for future international travel, thank you!

Excellent book about traveling to Jordan. Very detailed descriptions, clear maps and great layout of material. Very excited about our upcoming trip after reading this book.

The "flowers" used to come in the "daily" desk calendar but this year (2019) I was only able to find it in the weekly/wall format. I ended up purchasing both this calendar and the "Italy" daily/desk calendar. These calendars are wonderful, great photos, good quality paper, they brighten up the workspace. They don't seem to identify the flowers in the photos though. Still beautiful. Highly recommended.

This calendar is gorgeous. However, it’s very difficult to use. The pages are held together by a spiral, and the hanger comes up out of the spiral. However, when you try to flip over to the next page, the hole in the page is not big enough to allow the hanger to move through it. To get the page flipped you actually need to take the calendar down, lay it flat on a surface, close it, move the hanger, open the calendar to the new page and then move the hanger again. A silly problem that could easily be remedied.

Wish it was a page a day calendar like previous years...photos are beautiful!

Vegas baby! What happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas...most times.Brooke let herself live for the first time in years. When she meets Griff she is in for the ride of a lifetime. Griff is out celebrating and is ready to cut loose.Will these 2 be able to withstand what is to come? Will being friends be what gets them through? Will they take the easy way out?This was a great story!!!! I enjoyed the time lapse and seeing things later on. Brooke and Griff were a great match. As much as they drove each other crazy, they were exactly what rhe other needed and didn't know.Look forward to more from this awesome author!!#GoBears!

I loved this book. I'm not always a fan of sport romance because the jock is typically a rude, arrogant man that turns around. Not in this case, Griffin was a great person before he met Brooke and grew even more after.They met by chance in Las Vegas, felt an immediate connection that led to a one-night stand that resulted in a pregnancy. It took Brooke some time to track down Griffin and eventhrough it was rocky, they made it worked.This book was more than just romance, it was funny, it was sad, it pulled at your heart strings and at when I finished this book, I read it again, I couldn't get enough of it. I want more!The characters were real and very lovable. This is the first book I've read by this author and it won't be the last for me. Bravo!

I am a sucker for a sports romance. It doesn’t matter if it is football, baseball, hockey, soccer, whatever. I love it. I especially enjoy sports romance when it is more about the people in the story than the sport. Finding that balance is key. While I love sports, I don’t necessarily want the details of the sport in my book. I want the “behind-the-scenes” relationships.A. S. Teague does this well in The Hardest Route. The story follows Griff and Brooke. They meet in Las Vegas, spend an amazing night together, and go their separate ways: Brooke back to her job as an engineer and Griff to his burgeoning NFL career. However, their one-night stand produces a baby, and this book follows them through that journey.What I find intriguing about Griff and Brooke’s story is that they didn’t have an insta-love story. In other words, Teague doesn’t rush them into couplehood. Instead, they become parents to their daughter, and friends, and I found this refreshing. Oftentimes, in this situation, you imagine the author creating a relationship between the two. But Teague doesn’t. She grounds this story, to a degree that you can in a romance, in reality. These two do not know each other. To put them immediately into a relationship would be unrealistic and foolish. Teague grows their friendship through parenthood first, and this sets this book apart from other one-night stand baby-daddy romances.I also love that Brooke is older than Griff. She’s a career woman, intelligent, and grounded. He’s younger, starting a new life, and he shows his youth through his inability to compromise. This dynamic sets up the fireworks of their relationship. However, it also grows them into friends, which is probably the sweetest part of this book. Again, this dynamic makes this story different.I think the biggest issue with this story is all of its moving parts. There is enough to unpack between Griff and Brooke that the final “surprise” of the book, quite frankly, seemed unnecessary. I don’t want to spoil it for the reader, but I think it seemed tertiary to Griff and Brooke’s relationship. While I know it was meant to grow their romance (and it inspired the title for the book), it felt ancillary to the story, an after-thought.Also, there is humor in this book in the form of Griff and Brooke’s best friends. They add a level of hilarity that adds layers to the story. And this book can be sexy, but it is another ancillary part of this book. If you’re looking for heat, this isn’t your book. Instead, Teague focuses on developing the romance between Griff and Brooke in more meaningful ways, which can be refreshing in a genre that oftentimes overdoes the heat.I would definitely recommend The Hardest Route. It teaches us that the person who is closest to us, who really knows us as a friend, is oftentimes the one we’re meant to love forever. It suggests the friendship before love creates a stronger foundation for an eventual HEA. The Hardest Route offers a beautiful showing of friendship, devotion, and love.Overall:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
